About Us

A Historic Community Hub

Sequoyah Hills Office Plaza stands at the heart of one of Knoxville’s most historic and distinguished neighborhoods. Located in the small commercial center known as Council Point at the intersection of Kenesaw and Keowee Avenues in Sequoyah Hills, our plaza serves as a vibrant gathering place for both local businesses and community members. Our Role in the Neighborhood

As part of the original vision for Sequoyah Hills, our commercial district was designed to complement the residential character of the neighborhood while providing essential services. This small business district, which was part of developer Robert Foust’s original “Talahi” plans for the area, offers a central location for informal dining, professional services, and retail to serve the community. Today, the plaza hosts a diverse collection of businesses that reflect the character and needs of the Sequoyah Hills area, including:

  • Local cafés and restaurants
  • Professional service firms
  • Retail shops
  • Creative businesses
  • Community-focused enterprises

A Neighborhood with Deep Roots

Sequoyah Hills was developed in the 1920s as one of Knoxville’s first suburbs, named after Cherokee scholar Sequoyah who invented the Cherokee alphabet. Wikipedia Originally known as Looney’s Bend, the area has evolved from farmland to become one of Knoxville’s most prestigious communities, bordered on three sides by the Tennessee River.

The beauty of Sequoyah Hills is particularly striking in spring, when dogwood trees bloom throughout the neighborhood. In fact, Sequoyah Hills was the first community included in Knoxville’s Dogwood Arts Trail when it was established in 1955. Knoxville-TN
